Her name is Sophie/Acorn. I was at the animal shelter looking at another dog when she came in. First doggo was not a great match, and I asked about having them call me when she was ready to adopt. After 3 months of searching, I found a beautiful corgi mix.

Neat, but when are you going to give her herding lessons?

Thats all instinct. There is a corgi and a couple of border Collies at my local dog park that just try and herd the other dogs constantly.

I plan on starting small by gluing cotton balls to my robovac.
In all seriousness. She has some of the herding instinct, it showed up in her play with the neighbor dogs. I will probably start during the next season’s enrollment. I want to get basic obedience down with her first.

She has a calm and friendly disposition. She has been through a lot. The shelter volunteer gave me some backstory on her. She came in with both parents, they got seperated. She was adopted out from the shelter originally in january. She was then given to a family in Sequim, who gave her to somebody else, who gave her to somebody else, who had an elderly chihuahua that did not get along. So back to the shelter she went, where I was.
I don’t know why anybody would give her up. She falls asleep in my lap on car rides. She only barks at dogs. And she loves to play tug of war. She has been very well behaved with all of the dogs in my complex, even the not so well socialized ones.
I am in love.

She only tries if I run. She is definitely a herder.

She’s really been through a lot, and is lucky to have found a loving home. Good for you!
